www.spreadlikewildfire.org was a web-based tool developed for 14-18 year olds to help them turn their ideas into reality.
Young people registered on the site to create their own business homepages and link up with a business expert (a real life Yorkshire entrepreneur!) to inspire and advise them so that their business ideas could spread like wildfire.
The site featured high-profile role models from across the UK and local heroes.
The original idea and website were developed in 2006 and funded by Yorkshire Forward and through the Young People's Enterprise Forum. Since the original concept, there have been significant changes in the field and this original idea led on to the development of the Wildfire Hub (www.wildfirehub.com), developed by Youth Enterprise Services as part of the ERDF funded net315 project.
