Building an entrepreneurial culture is key to the success of the region's economy. Young people will become the workforce and entrepreneurs of the future.
Through the EnterprisingFE project we are now in the process of creating a long-term culture of enterprise within the FE sector across Yorkshire & Humber.
The project builds on best practice developed through initiatives such as the Northern Way, and LEGI programmes by encouraging greater sharing of ideas and approaches through an FE enterprise network and promote partnership working across other education sectors.
The four lead colleges involved in the delivery of the project are Leeds City College, Sheffield College, North Lindsey College and Craven College. There are now 20 participating colleges in the Yorkshire Further Education Enterprise Network (YFEEN) this network works in conjunction with the national network (FEEN).
Aim of Project:
- To provide CPD, resources and support for teachers to ensure enterprise education is delivered as part of every course creating an enterprise culture in every aspect of college life
- To work with local partnerships to ensure the Embedding Enterprise in Further Education programme adds value and builds on existing activity
- To provide a platform to share ideas, best practice and network
- To share ideas beyond the region and ensure the virtual network is accessible to non participating colleges, Higher Education Institutions, Schools and Employers
A growing resource of case studies and examples of good practice within Further Education.
